MAJOR GIRL CRUSH ALERT!

As well as this, I also have a blog on tumblr (if you wish to follow me my URL is where-daisys-fall..) and recently I have been seeing endless amounts of pictures of "the latest it girl - JESSE JO STARK". She is 19, the head designer of chrome hearts jewelry and her godmother is Cher....er woah!
She seems to have such an effortless style..a punk/grunge look which is often combined with childlike things - such as dinosaurs. She claims that each day is a new day where she gets to play dress up; clear traits of a girl longing to stay youthful forever.

Her most recognisable feature would be her ever changing hair styles - constantly long and perfectly distressed hair (which i LOVE) - but with various colours in various places..from green dipdye to pink roots i can't seem to get enough of her recently!

Inspirations for summer

This is the summer of beauty - the summer of love. The summer to be who you want to be - the summer of love. This is the summer of freedom, the summer of expression. The summer of peace, the summer of happiness, the summer of elegance.
This is the summer of magic.

Can't stop listening to this..

Inspirational People

If i'm honest, the list is endless, however I have managed to whittle it down to 'the top 5' if you like. Each of these people inspire me in many different ways and are/were truly amazing people.
Coco Chanel - 'Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening"

Helena Bonham Carter - 'I love changing what I look like because I always feel super strange whenever I do watch something that I'm in.'
William Shakespeare -  'Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them'
Twiggy - 'I’m lumbered with the name Twiggy really. There was a point a few years back when I thought I’d stop using it and be Lesley Lawson. But every time I was written about, it would be ‘Lesley Lawson, otherwise known as Twiggy’. So my husband quite rightly told me to stop worrying about it.'
Morrissey - 'There's more to life than books you know..but not much more'

there is a light that never goes out

As a result of being cooped up inside for four days with suspected glandular fever (oh how pleasant) the time came for me to get some fresh air. after a long walk with the doggies wrapped up warm in my new fur coat, gloves, an old pair of tracksuits and some wellies i was feeling a little better, but with no one to talk to at home and a lot of coursework to catch up on that i really wasn’t in the mood for, i decided to go on a little adventure. well, it was barely an adventure, but it was the most fun thing in my week seeing as i had practically slept for most of it. so, i decided to have a rummage around in the attic and in the stables - which we now use for a place to chuck things we don’t use/want/need. after the quickest hour ever i found the following; series 1 of family guy, some old drawings from when i was 5, old books, a 40 year old hockey stick, a string-less guitar, thousands of pictures of family holidays, unknown relatives and great grandparents - and a small collection of dad’s old vinyl collection. this was, by a mile, the best find of the day and left me feeling slightly over excited. amongst the depeche mode, the b52s and louis armstrong, the thing that got me most excited was how much of the smiths i kept coming accross. not only is morrissey a GOD, but it’s safe to say i am hooked on the smiths - although not as hooked as my dad is/was ..  i remember the first time i heard a smiths track, the first one being ‘there is a light that never goes out’ - which i would say is my favourite smiths song, although its hard to really decide between them all. i would be lying if i said i fell in love from the first moment i heard a glimpse of the smiths, because i didn’t. but my dad insisted he kept playing through their albums over and over again, and, as if by magic i gradually started to listen to the smiths by choice, and from there my love for morrissey, marr, rourke and joyce grew and grew. so you can imagine my excitement when i found all of these vinyls that had been hidden away in boxes for years. the only strange thing is that how can i be so obsessed with a band that was formed years before i was even born? well good music is good music and that is regardless.
all in all, being ill and lying in bed does have its benefits and i am currently waiting for my dad to arrive home with our record player, whilst keeping the vinyls in safe comfort of my wardrobe so we can - in his words - ‘spin’ em up’
life’s good

a rainy weekend away in brighton

just some photos i took whilst at the pier.
the birds flying round, the rain and the smell of warm donuts all added up to create the perfect getaway.
